Lyndsey Rocca
LMFT - Expressive Arts Therapist - Grief Counselor
I've spent many years cultivating a relationship with grief — this amorphous thing that’s both elusive and all-encompassing, vast and ever-changing, mysterious and confronting and oh-so-very human. My experiences with grief - both personal and profession - have broken me open but also connected me more deeply to the things that matter most to me in life.
As a therapist, I've come to understand that nearly everything that ails us can be seen through the lens of grief: wishing something were different, learning to cope with what's outside our control, and finding ways to continue pushing forward with a sense of possibility in what remains.
Using many forms of creative expression, my practice supports clients through each part of this process — honoring the courage it took to care about something enough to grieve it, developing practices to sit more comfortably with the unknown and find a release valve for difficult emotions, and cultivating a sense of openness and empowerment to continue creating meaning out of life, free from the confines of life's many "shoulds."
I'm grateful every day that I get to do this work.
